A society of fear
In this day and age every high schooler has some sort of fear in them it’s normal. But when you are fearing a school shooter every single day and getting threats by random screwed up people that’s a problem. The Majory Stoneman Douglas high school shooting hit me extremely hard. It also scared everyone around me. My family called me that day repeatedly just to ask me how I was doing. I didn’t sleep that night because I was up looking at every article every picture of him and evidence that THIS ALL COULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED. Now a days every kid is basically bred to be so sensitiv about everything. Kids bully it’s what has always happened in high school but the bully’s don’t understand how much your words or your actions affect people. You have no idea if one day they just can’t take it anymore and SNAP.
I’ve learned throughout high school that you can’t bully people just because you don’t like them or they aren’t particularly “normal” everyone has there quirks and there things about them that make them as a person different. You never know what someone’s home life is like or what is going on in there head. An example of what could go wrong is the Majory Stoneman Douglas high school shooting. The child that harmed and killed those 17 people had clearly a lot going on in his head. His adoptive parents both died a year or two ago and that messed with his head so much that he changed into a different person. He started harming animals and playing with guns. Even though he is 19 he’s still a kid there is no reason his life should have gone like that. When you see someone down and acting weird you should go talk to them and try and figure out what is going wrong. You never know what can happen and what can possibly be prevented if you just go and talk to someone and show them that people do care they just do not know how to show it. All in all just be kind and positive to people you don’t know. You never know what you can stop them from creating.
